어느 방향으로든

지도의 상단은 왜 언제나 북쪽이어야 하는가. 터닝포인트는 우리 삶을 이전과는 전혀 다른 방향으로 이끌곤 합니다. 안전하고 익숙한 일상에서 벗어나 낯선 환경에 놓였던 교환학생 경험은, 망설임으로 인해 시도하지 못했던 것에 도전할 용기를 주었고 세상을 바라보는 시야를 확장시켰습니다. 이는 곧 내가 그리는 나의 지도는 반드시 한 방향으로 나아가는 것이 아니라, 어느 방향으로든 뻗어나갈 수 있다는 것을 깨닫게 해주었습니다. 이 과정을 인터랙티브 영상에 담아 터닝포인트가 한 개인에게 끼칠 수 있는 영향력을 전달하고자 합니다.

Why must the top of a map always face north? Turning points often lead our lives in entirely new directions. Leaving behind a safe and familiar daily routine, my experience as an exchange student in an unfamiliar environment gave me the courage to take on challenges I had hesitated to try and broadened my perspective on the world. This made me realize that the map of my life I draw does not necessarily have to move in just one direction, but can expand out in any direction. Capturing this process in an interactive video, I aim to convey the impactful influence a turning point can have on an individual.
