나전칠기 : 표면과 조각

나전칠기:표면과 조각은 작은 자개 조각이 반복되고 연결되며 하나의 문양과 표면으로 완성되는 과정에 주목한 작업입니다. 빛과 각도에 따라 달라지는 자개의 물성과 조각의 배열, 연결 구조를 통해 나전칠기를 고정된 전통 이미지가 아닌 변화하고 확장되는 조형 언어로 바라보았습니다. 이를 아카이브북, 캐릭터북, 타이포그래피와 비트맵 그래픽으로 전개하여 나전칠기의 조형 원리를 현대적인 시각 언어로 재해석한 프로젝트입니다.

Najeon Chilgi: Surface & Pieces explores how small fragments of mother-of-pearl connect and repeat to form patterns and surfaces. Focusing on nacre’s changing appearance under light and the structure created through arrangement and connection, the project reinterprets Najeon Chilgi as a flexible visual language. Its formal principles are expanded through an archive book, a character storybook, typography, and bitmap graphics.
