외모지상주의는 외모가 하나의 기준이 되어 사람을 평가하고 분류하는 사회적 현상을 탐구합니다. 얼굴과 신체를 측정하고 비교하며 하나의 이상적인 형태로 규정하는 과정을 시각화함으로써, 획일화된 미의 기준 속에서 사라지는 개인의 고유성과 차이를 이야기합니다. 이를 통해 우리가 자연스럽게 받아들여 온 아름다움의 기준이 어떻게 만들어지고 반복되는지 질문하고자 합니다.

LOOKISM explores the social phenomenon of judging and categorizing people based on appearance. By visualizing how faces and bodies are measured, compared, and defined according to a single ideal form, the project examines the individuality and differences that disappear within standardized ideals of beauty. It asks how the standards of beauty we have come to accept as natural are created and reproduced.
