디지털 치매는 디지털 기기에 대한 과도한 의존이 기억과 사고 능력에 미칠 영향을 우려하는 표현입니다. 기억을 저장에, 판단을 추천에 맡기는 일상에서 출발해, 디지털 기기를 미로로, 그 안의 우리를 인간 픽토그램으로 표현했다. 안내에 익숙해질수록 스스로 길을 찾기 어려워지고, 벗어나기 위해 다시 기기에 의존하는 순환 속에 갇힙니다. 이러한 단절을 ‘인지의 절벽’에 빗대어, 편리함 속에서 우리가 무엇을 스스로 기억하고 판단하는지 질문합니다.

“digitalzheimer” is a term that expresses concern about how excessive reliance on digital devices may affect memory and thinking. Drawing on our everyday habits of entrusting memory to digital storage and judgment to recommendations, this work depicts digital devices as a maze and the people within it as human pictograms. As we grow accustomed to being guided, we find it harder to navigate on our own, becoming trapped in a cycle of relying on devices once again to escape. By likening this disconnect to a “cognitive cliff,” the work asks what we remember and decide for ourselves amid the convenience of digital life.
