As the sounds of school sports days are increasingly perceived as noise, growing complaints have led to these events and their sounds being reduced or restrained. Yet sports days are shared experiences where people come together and express emotions, with each sound playing a role in shaping the event. This project looks beyond volume and decibels to explore when and why these sounds occur, what roles they serve, and how people perceive them. By visually documenting these aspects, it aims to rediscover the necessity and value of the sounds that bring sports days to life.
